The Director's Cut has just learned that WKYC's Chief Meteorologist Mark Nolan has been named new anchor of Channel 3 News Today, replacing John Anderson who recently left for Philadelphia.

Also Abby Ham is joining WKYC from our Gannett sister station, WBIR in Knoxville, Tennessee to become Mark's new morning co-anchor.

Meteorologist Hollie Strano will continue her role as weekday morning weather anchor.

For the time being, weekend Meteorologist Betsy Kling replaces Mark on the Monday - Friday 6, 7, & 11 PM broadcasts. AJ Colby will handle weekends.

I'm disappointed to hear that Barbara will not be anchoring the morning news with Mark. She has done a great job. I was sad to see Kim Wheeler get moved from that spot too - Channel 3, I hope you don't lose another great anchor as a result of this decision.

Also, PLEASE make Betsy the permanent evening meteorologist - there should be no question about that decision - she's the best person for that job.

Thanks for listening.

This looks like a good move. I was not a fan of Anderson or Barbara Gauthier. New energy was needed.

Betsy is one of the best weatherpersons in Cleveland, hands-down. I'm glad that she has the opportunity to shine in a prominent role at WKYC. I like her no-nonsense delivery of the forecasts, and her work in the community makes her even more suitable for the position of chief meteorologist.

I'm excited about the new changes at WKYC, and am looking forward to seeing the new line-ups in action.

Here's hoping that the increase in exposure will help improve Betsy's wardrobe choices. She delivers the weather fine, but her outfit choices are quite distracting.
