One of our multi-talented overnight videographers, Brian Behler, is writing a blog called "Newshutrs Views" about one section we haven't really touched yet here on this blog - what it is like to be the one shooting the video out in the field and some of the stories behind each story shot.
Videographers are the guys and gals (along with the reporters) who have to do the dirty work in the field gathering the daily pictures you see us put on the air. They shoot the fires, the dead bodies and the happy reunions while I'm sitting in the nice warm (or air conditioned) control room. They are the folks enduring the weather to bring the story right into your living room - often times live.
And they never get enough credit - so I'll pay my personal thanks to Brian and all the other Channel 3 videographers, in particular, by spreading the word about Brian's blog for another perspective on what it's like to work in TV Land.
Check it out over the weekend at: newshutrsviews.blogspot.com. Plus, I've added a permanent link to the site in our right hand menu for easy reference.
