USA Today Web Poll: Is NBC Losing The Leno Crowd?
Our sister publication, USA Today.com, has conducted a new web poll and found Jay Leno fans have yet to adapt to Conan's hosting of the "Tonight Show".
Respondents say they are beginning to look elsewhere or not even watch after a strong start has fizzled for Conan as host of the "Tonight Show."
Conan is a little too manic for the 11:30 slot. The Tonight Show is virtually an institution in late night TV and his goofiness is cheapening the show. The monologue in particular needs to be less about him and more about the jokes.
NBC is banking on that 47% to pull through for The Jay Leno Show. They'll get their comedy while getting to bed earlier, and let the younger demo have Conan. I don't think that's a worry for NBC right now... that's almost on par with what they want!
I can't wait for Jay's show to premiere in the fall. I'm predicting that will do dismal as well, since he will be up against shows like The Mentalist, CSI:NY and CSI: Miami. Good thing NBC kept Jay around, wouldn't be surprised if in the next year/year and a half they try to put everyone back.
You can count me among the many that have switched to Letterman. I already watched Ferguson at 12:35, he's better than Fallon.
Fallon could be better if he cound practice being less self-conscious. He comes across as the kid in the back of the class who's afraid to raise his hand. I basically like him, however he needs to grow out of his shell a bit.

My 2 cents (and you get what you pay for)

Alao can't wait for Leno to return.
