It's good to hear the PD is committed to being in print. I have not read the paper in some time (PD specifically since I moved away), but even The JS in Milwaukee. I primarily use a TV affiliate's website for local news, and national ... CNN. Hard to believe no one has the answer to this problem, but I suspect many more papers will be shutting down their print operations before the new model is found.
I stumbled across an AP story on Time.com while trying to find the article referenced in the interview. A Maryland Senator proposed nonprofit status for newspapers. Hard to imagine that, but if it would save local papers then it might be worthwhile. Although I have to wonder how that might affect the nation's finances if all those tax revenues disappeared. Are there much tax revs from them anyway nowadays being that they're all in trouble?
