NEW YORK -- A veteran New York City news anchor flubs a line and an obscene catch phrase goes viral on the Internet.
Ernie Anastos of Fox affiliate WNYW was bantering with the weatherman Wednesday night when he cheerfully dropped an F-bomb on the air.
What he likely intended to say was, "Keep plucking that chicken."
Anastos didn't appear to recognize the error, though co-anchor Dari Alexander's eyes bugged out after he said it.
Videos of the mistake circulated widely online Thursday, as the phrase took on a life of its own. Fox isn't laughing, though.

The vice president and general manager of WNYW, Lew Leone, says he's "disappointed" in Anastos' comment and the anchor will apologize on the air Thursday evening.

Hey you work in the business of news! you should know that WNYW is not a Fox affiliate but and o&o! But of couse, Gannett (yuck), only owns CBS, NBC, and ABC stations. (Just fyi I watch your sister station KUSA. I have read a lot of comments about the Gannett graphic and news packages. Many network enthusiousts like myself wonder when a new package will come out. The graphics dont really incorporate any originally of the market and the music sounds,"like, so '80s." But what can you do, Gannett is making lay off. email me if you have any info. :)
While trying to think up a clever comment about this story that wouldn't get too crude a quasi-creative thought occurred to me...
I wonder if there'd be much of an audience for it if one of the more adventurous cable networks aired a late-night news program featuring nasty language. I'm thinking said language shouldn't be overused but strategically included for maximum effect.
Picture this story lead, "US Representative X just stepped in some deep s*** today!".
Please feel free to discuss among yourselves, big time programing execs ;-)
Now keep f***ing that chicken, everybody!
Well, he apologized to the viewers, the station, and chickens everywhere...
