Where Are They Now: Matt Standridge's Meteorological Journey from WKYC to WTHR

By Frank Macek Matt Strandridge  (Courtesy: WTHR) Matt Standridge, once a familiar face on Cleveland's WKYC-TV, has charted an impressive and heartfelt journey through the world of broadcast meteorology. Today, he’s embraced a new chapter, returning to his roots in Indiana as the morning meteorologist for WTHR-TV’s “13Sunrise” in Indianapolis. For those who fondly remember his engaging weekend forecasts and adventure series on WKYC, Standridge’s story is a testament to passion, perseverance, and purpose. Building a Meteorological Foundation Matt’s journey in meteorology began with a strong academic foundation. Born and raised in Centerville, Indiana, Standridge pursued a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology at Valparaiso University. He also minored in Digital Media, a combination that uniquely positioned him for the multimedia demands of modern weather broadcasting. WKYC adds Meteorologist Matt Standridge to the 3News Weather Team

Most recently at our TEGNA sister station, KFSM-TV/Fort Smith/Fayetteville, Arkansas, Matt is currently the weekend morning meteorologist and host of "Arkansas Adventures" where he showcases exciting scenic life in the great outdoors. WKYC Director of Content Adam Miller says Matt will become the station's weekend evening meteorologist for "3News: What Matters Most" at 6p and "3News: What's Next" at 11p joining Lynna Lai, Andrew Horansky and Sports Anchor Nick Camino. Born in Oklahoma, Matt eventually moved to upstate NY where he fell in love with a concept called "Lake Effect Snow."
